Match preview: Pools travel to Stockport

26 March 2021

Hartlepool United travel to fellow play-off hopefuls Stockport County this weekend looking to build on their 10-game unbeaten run and Tuesday's victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Opposition

Stockport come into the game having lost just one of their last five. Since losing to Weymouth at the start of March, the Hatters have scored 11 goals and conceded just two. County are just six points behind Dave Challinor's side in fourth, though they have two games in hand. New signing Paddy Madden is likely to be involved for the home side, with former Poolies Mark Kitching and Macauley Southam-Hales also in contention.

History

Most recently, Pools hammered Stockport at The Vic in December. Goals from Rhys Oates, Ryan Johnson, and a brace from Luke Armstrong saw Challinor's men record a 4-0 victory. Over the years, we've seen 126 league games between the sides. Stockport edge the results slightly, winning 51 games compared to Pools' 45 victories. 30 games have resulted in a draw.

Team News

Dave Challinor once again has a full squad to choose from. There are no reported injuries or suspensions.
