We are delighted to announce thesigning of Martin Smith.
The midfielder joins us on apermanent deal after recently leaving Chesterfield.
Smith began his career at Sunderland before stints inScotland and Northern Ireland with Kilmarnock and Coleraine respectively.
The midfielder is best known for his work rate on and off the ball, being box to box and creating chances.
He joined Salford in the summer of 2019 and thenhad a loan spell at Chorley.
Smith went on to join Chesterfield in January and was an unused substitute during Pools' 3-1 victory against the Spirities at The Vic in May.

about for a number of years when assessing our midfield options. For someone
who is still quite young, he has got plenty of experience, a local lad, knows
the area well and you can tell he has really got that bit in between his teeth.
