Match preview: Wealdstone (a)

15 April 2021

After climbing to the summit of the National League with

victory over Notts County, Hartlepool United are looking to push on with a

visit to Wealdstone this Saturday.

Pools are now unbeaten in 14 and will be looking to repeat

their home performance against The Stones in January when Rhys Oates, Luke

Armstrong, and Nicky Featherstone netted in a 3-1 victory.

Please be aware that to avoid clashing with the funeral of

HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the kick-off time has been moved to

12.30pm.

The Opposition

Wealdstone are currently in 18th place, 17 points

from the last playoff place. They've won just one of their last five, thumping

Barnet 5-1 at home. In that time, they've lost three games to Boreham Wood,

Solihull Moors, and Woking, and drawn 2-2 with Bromley.

The team is led by manager Stuart Maynard and skipper Jerome

Okimo. Jacob Mendy, goalscorer for The Stones at The Vic, was on the books of

Atletico Madrid as a youth player before making his way to the UK with

Wealdstone.

The History

The 2020-2021 season is the first time the teams have met, meaning that Pools have a 100% record against Saturday's hosts.

Team News

With Ben Killip out, Henrich Ravas is expected to keep his place between the posts for Pools. The Slovakian kept a clean sheet on his return to the side, with Dave Challinor saying it was “his shirt to lose”.

Joe Grey is expected to join Killip on the side-lines forthe rest of the season as he recovers from his back injury.
