Pools to play at Vic tomorrow after Blyth postpone

18 September 2020

Pools will play at Victoria Park tomorrow against Northern League Division 2 side Brandon United F.C.

The original plan was to play against Blyth Spartans but that had to be postponed due to a Blyth player testing positive for COVID.

Blyth confirmed:

The individual was present at training on Tuesday evening but missed Thursday's session due to feeling unwell.
They have since tested positive for coronavirus, meaning all staff and players present at training on Tuesday must self isolate for 14 days from now, under government rules.
Subsequently, this means Saturday's arranged friendly at Hartlepool United has been postponed.

We will use this game tomorrow as a perfect opportunity to implement the club's Stage 3 Protocolols in respect of playing matches behind closed doors as a key step in preparations for the new start of the season. This is all in accordance with the government and National League guidance.

Pools will continue their pre-season with the rearrangement. The kick-off will still be at 1pm and you can follow the game live from our Twitter or on Mixlr:
