Hartlepool United are delighted to announce the signing of RyanJohnson.
The powerful defender signs on a short-term deal after leavingKidderminster at the end of last season.
He started his career with West Bromwich Albion as a boy but before he signed pro terms with them, he signed for Stevenage. He made nine appearances for the club and spent time out on loan at Nuneaton Town and fellow National League side Boreham Wood.
In January
2019, Johnson signed a permanent deal at Kidderminster Harriers after a successful
loan spell and played throughout the 2019/20 National League North season. We spoke toRyan after completing his move to the North East:
“I am delighted to sign for Pools. They are a huge club that in my opinion, don't belong in this league. I want to come in and help as best I can. I am nothing but excited to play at The Vic."
Dave Challinor also spoke about his new signing:
“Ryan came in last week on trial, he played the practice
match against Darlington and we were happy to see he was able to play as a left
sided full back as well as his favoured centre back position. He fits into the
squad well and has showed good signs since training with us so we were happy to
get this deal done.”
