Club Launches Volunteer Initiative

3 September 2020

Over the

last few weeks, we have been approached by a number of individuals and local

businesses offering their skills and experience completely free of charge as we

progress through the ongoing challenges of Covid-19 and embed our sustainability

initiatives to provide strong foundations for the Club as a whole and success

on the pitch.

We have

also been listening to a large number of our supporters who have told us that

they will “do anything” for the Club they adore.

So we aretherefore launching our VolunteerInitiative to further strengthen, and deepen, our pool of dedicated

supporters and local businesses who feel they have the skills, experience, time

availability and personal commitment to support the Club's Executive Management

in the running of their Club.

What isthe Club looking for?

It is

more a question of ‘what can you do for the Club?' and we invite you to tell us

exactly what skills and experience you feel you can offer us. It's not just

about sharing your ideas, it's about rolling up your sleeves and helping us get

things done.

We have

set out below some suggestions of the kind of skills, across a number of

operational areas, that our dedicated supporters or local businesses may

possess and would be keen to help us with. However this list is far from exhaustive,

so if you feel you have a valuable skill set or business acumen in other areas

that can support the Club then we would love to hear from you as well.

The most

important priority is that you are willing and able to give your time and

commitment to the Club. Before applying to be a volunteer please consider the

impact such a role may have on your family, home and work time. Whilst the personal

skills you require will, to a certain extent, depend on the nature of the role

you are looking to provide, you will need to be able to demonstrate the

following attributes:
  • Clear communication and organisation;
  • Reliability;
  • Willingness to work to deadlines;
  • Excellent customer-facing skills;
  • Ability to work within a team of similarly mindedindividuals;
  • Flexibility;

Certain

roles may require Safeguarding and DBS security clearance checks to be carried

out In the event of your application being successful, this will be discussed

with you if relevant.

Whyshould I Volunteer?

Volunteering can help you learn new skills, gain experience and sometimes

even qualifications. Through volunteering

you can challenge yourself to try something different, achieve

personal goals, practice using your skills and discover hidden talents. Or you

may simply choose to volunteer because you are a passionate Poolie who wants to

feel more involved and connected with your Club.
