Match preview: Pools head to Solihull

30 November 2020

Hartlepool United will be looking to push on from the past two unbeaten games as they head to Solihull Moors in this National League clash.

Solihull currently sit 13th in the league table with playing two fewer games then Pools this season. Their league record currently stands at seven played, four wins, one draw and two losses. The Moors most recently played on Saturday after they were defeated 4-2 AET in the FA Cup against Morecambe.

Jimmy Shan, who was appointed last February, certainly didn't wait around when the summer transfer window opened. 18 new signings came through the door at Damson Park as they look to push on from the identical finish to Dave Challinor's men last season. Solihull finished one place above Pools in 8th but both sides ended the campaign on 55 points.

The two teams have met six times in their history, both equally winning three of those. Pools fans will certainly remember our last visit to Damson Park as an 86th-minute winner from Aiden Keena sealed the tie in dramatic fashion.

Dave Challinor believes this will be a tough tie for his side and expects Solihull to be pushing for a higher finish this time around:
