We're Feeling Positive And Confident - Challinor

3 March 2020

Dave Challinor knows that tonight's trip to Solihull Moors

could prove pivotal for Pools' play-off ambitions and has insisted the players

can use that as motivation.

Challinor's men currently occupy 11th spot in the

National League table but they are just three points behind this evening's hosts

who are sixth, so the stakes are high as Pools travel to The Midlands.

Pools have tasted defeat just once in their last eight

outings and two wins from the last three have helped build some real momentum

and belief on and off the pitch at Victoria Park.

However, Solihull Moors have improved since Jimmy Shan was appointed

as boss and ran out 3-0 winners against in-form Dover Athletic at the weekend,

so tonight's meeting is a tough one to call.

“We will approach this game in a similar way to Saturday,”Challinor insisted.

“We know that the games we're playing involve teams around

us and they are important – none more so than this evening because it's an

opportunity to move level on points with Solihull.

“We have got to try and be positive, look after what we can

do and try and back up what was a good result at Boreham Wood – and it will

become an even better one if we can win tonight.

“The focus will be on looking after ourselves and trying tocorrect the things we were disappointed with at the weekend.

“The reward for winning a game is always three points but it

could mean a whole lot more with how the table could potentially look, and that's

got to be a massive incentive for the players.

“Solihull had a great result on Saturday against a side that

had been doing well recently and Jimmy Shan has seen a good turnaround since

going in as Manager.

“But we will go there feeling confident, looking to be

positive, trying to get on the front foot and aiming to stamp our authority on

the game from the first whistle.”
