Hartlepool United Football Club announces that Mark Maguire is to leave his position as Chief Executive.

The decision was mutually agreed by both parties in light of ongoing changes being made at the club.

The Club acknowledges and wishes to place on record it's appreciation for Mark's dedication to the Pool's cause and all of his hard-work.

Club Chairman, Raj Singh, says “It has been a pleasure to work with Mark over the last 2 years. He was an instrumental member of the team in rescuing the club back in early 2018 and also in the recruitment of the current manager. He leaves the Club knowing the club is generally in a better position on and off the field. I'm sure everyone will join me in wishing Mark the best of luck as he embarks upon his next challenge”.

Mark added “It has been my considerable pleasure to work at Hartlepool United for the last two years and I would like to thank the Chairman for the opportunity. We have faced many challenges and made significant progress albeit that I wish we could have done more. The club deserves to be in the EFL and I firmly believe it now has a manager in place who will help deliver that aim. I leave with a heavy heart not least because I have immersed myself in Hartlepool and have felt a special connection with the place. I've worked with some fantastic staff and players and will miss them all. But most of all I will miss the loyal Poolies who have amazed me with a level of passion and a support which has at times left me speechless. It may have only been two years but part of me will always remain in Hartlepool and I wish only good things for the club and the town in the future.”

Mark will continue to assist the club during the handover process and the club will keep the fans updated with further announcements as matters develop.
