Dave Challinor was left disappointed as Pools were forced to
settle for a point after conceding an injury-time equaliser at Dover Athletic
The Pools boss saw his side take the lead midway through thefirst half when Whites defender Kevin Lokko headed past his own goalkeeper.
It looked as though Challinor would be celebrating back-to-back National League wins for the first time as Pools boss only for Dover substitute Nassim L'Ghoul to prod home a leveller in the 91st minute.
“You will reflect and look back on the positives but it's another
hard luck story where we go home disappointed because we have taken a point
from game in which we should undoubtedly have had three.“I thought for the first 40 minutes it was the most complete
performance since I have been here in terms of what we ask them to do and what
they did – the game should have been over.“We dropped off for the last five minutes of the first half
and we looked a bit tired and leggy so at half-time I asked them to go out with
an intent but we didn't show any and we dropped too deep.“That handed the initiative to them but we seemed to weather
that storm and come out the other side – so to then be done in injury-time is a
sucker punch and a killer blow.“There have been occasions this season where you'll look back and think we should have got points from games, so many what ifs - and the further you go along you think is it going to cost us?”
