Club Statement: North West Corner

7 January 2020

Following recent events, the Club has held a productive

meeting with representatives from the North West Corner Group who have helped

in creating an ever-improving atmosphere over the last eighteen months.

Unfortunately, due to some issues in that area, thatatmosphere has been interrupted over the last couple of games.

We are working together to examine a solution for the North West Corner which we intend to implement in time for the Stockport County fixture Saturday 25th January.

In the meantime, for tonight's match against Eastleigh there will be a limited number of seats made available in the Smith & Graham Stand (Rink End) to accommodate this group and alleviate pressure from the North West Corner.

The access to the Smith & Graham Stand will be limited to

Over 16s, unless accompanied by an adult. Fans should enter the Neale Cooper

stand as usual and then before kick-off access will be allowed to the Smith

& Graham Stand, under controlled circumstances with places limited.

“We have had a really positive meeting and what is clear is

that all of us want to encourage the atmosphere to grow but within the

boundaries set by our obligations under the Safety Certificate,” explained

Chief Executive, Mark Maguire.

“I'm grateful for the assistance of Cleveland Police in

discussions over this and look forward to a fantastic noise coming from that

end of the ground this evening.

“We want to encourage a great atmosphere but equally providea safe and comfortable environment for all fans to enjoy the football.”
