Pools Youth Team are in derby action on Wednesday afternoon
when they play host to Darlington in the NLFA North Division at Welfare Park in
Ian McGuckin's men are in fine form going in to the clash
too having won three of their last four games and scored an astonishing 17
goals in the process.Their planned trip to Darlington earlier in the season fell
foul to the weather so there is big anticipation as the two rivals prepare to
go head-to-head on Wednesday.“When the fixtures came out it was the first one we alllooked for obviously so we're excited about the game,” admitted McGuckin.
“With the way things have been in recent years I am not sure
many of the lads will understand the big rivalry that exists but I will be
doing everything I can to make them understand come 12.50pm on Wednesday.“It's another good opportunity for us to extend the unbeaten
run we've been on and pick up another three points to try and climb the table a
little further, that is the main objective.“The lads are confident, they've been playing well so we
just want to them to keep that going on Wednesday and hopefully the performance
is of the same level as recent weeks.”Aaron Willoughby and Harrison Webster are both injury doubts
after taking knocks in training but keeper Grant Lowerson does return to
contention for the game. Conner Rennison and Kyle Wilson are definitely still
sidelined.Kick-off at Welfare Park is 1pm and entry is free for allsupporters.
