Pools Women Aiming For High Five

7 February 2020

Pools Women go in search of their fifth straight win in the NERWFL

Premier Division on Sunday when they host Redcar Town at East Durham College in

Peterlee (2pm kick-off).

Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes' side have stormed up to third in the

table on the back of their impressive run and are now breathing down the necks

of leaders Harrogate Town and second-placed Farsley Celtic.

Pools ran out 2-0 winners when they made the trip to Redcar

at the turn of the year and they now have all eyes on completing their first double

of the current campaign on Sunday.

“We've had another really good week's training inpreparation for the game,” revealed Gibbon-Hayes.

“I am expecting an extremely tough game against Redcar who

will bring physicality but also real quality with the likes of Jess Round in

their side.

“I have every faith that our girls will be ready to put on

another good performance though – we have eight games left so we'll just take

it one at a time, try and get the points on the board and keep the dream alive.”

Pools could be boosted this weekend by the return of Caitlin

Bates from injury, while Chelsea Basnett is also approaching match fitness

after recovering from a cruciate ligament rupture.

Kick-off at East Durham College is 2pm and entry is free forall supporters.
