Dave Challinor has urged his side to give the home fans even
more to shout about this weekend by delivering a fourth successive win at
With Pools sitting just four points behind their visitors,
Notts County - who currently occupy sixth place - Challinor knows that another
victory on Saturday could be crucial to his side's chances. The Pools boss has engineered an excellent record on home
soil, tasting defeat just once at The Vic since he took the reins back in
November. However, the significance of another positive result this weekend
is not lost on Challinor as his squad return to the pitch for the first time in
a fortnight following last week's postponement.“It's a massively important game – a big one for both sides,”he told Pools TV.
“Three points on Saturday may be more important to us than
it is to them right now so we'll be doing everything we can to win the game but
we know it will be tough.“They have had some injuries and some important players
missing which has affected what they've done but they still carry a Football
League squad in terms of size and quality.“They're up there for a reason but we're on a decent runourselves and we've been strong at home so hopefully that will continue.
“The crowd is brilliant here. They're massively important and they shouldn't ever under-estimate the part they play but it's up to the eleven who go out there to give them something to shout about.
“The players have been doing that, the fans have really bought in to it and we've had some very positive results so long may that go on.”
