Statement- Live streaming

7 December 2020

As fans will be aware, the live match streaming service for the Hartlepool United v Boreham Wood fixture on Saturday experienced issues with regards to the quality of the stream.

This was due to the failure shortly before kick-off of a piece of equipment which allows for internet connection in the media and press area of the ground (in the Neale Cooper Stand), where the live streaming operation is based. After consultation with our IT service provider and streaming provider, we put in place a back-up solution to try and continue to provide the streaming service to fans. It became clear shortly after kick-off that issues remained with the quality of the stream – and despite additional efforts to improve the service during the game, the quality of the stream was not improved significantly.

The club would like to make it clear that this was not an issue with the streaming service provider or the streaming set-up itself, but due to the failure of a piece of equipment which had been in place prior to this season providing internet connection to the press and media area.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused, and will be automatically refunding all fans who purchased a ‘Pay Per View' pass for the game. We will action this immediately, but please note it may take up to 5 working days for the funds to go into your account. For Season Ticket holders, we will take this into consideration when finalising the full package of benefits to be awarded due to not being able to attend games at Victoria Park – which we will be announcing shortly.

Furthermore, we have now resolved the issue with the equipment and as an additional one off measure to further compensate we will be reducing the cost of the live match stream of tomorrow night's game against Kings Lynn Town to £7.50. The link for tomorrow night's game is below:
