Hartlepool United will be looking to carry on from Tuesday nights success at The Vic as they take on Halifax Town on Boxing Day.
This will be the second of the three jousts between the two sides after Pools were defeated on penalties by The Shaymen last Saturday in the FA Trophy. An entertaining game for the neutrals saw Halifax take a two-goal lead in 15 minutes. Pools had to fight back twice to take the game from penalties but a miss from Donaldson and Holohan settled the tie.
Since the FA Trophy, Halifax enjoyed a convincing 3-1 win over Eastleigh which has climbed them up to 11th in the National League.
This will be the 131st meeting between the two sides with Pools winning 50, drawing 21 and losing 59. Due to last seasons early cut off, only the one fixture was played which resulted in a 2-0 defeat at the very beginning of the season in August 2019.
18 new signings came through the doors of the Shay Stadium during the summer with Halifax now sat in 16th in the National League, having won four, drawn four and lost five.
Dave Challinor's men will be looking to carry on the momentum from Tuesday night and a win could take Pools up to third if other results go their way.
