Promising youngster Joe Grey has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old
Striker joined the Pools Youth Academy last year from Wallsend Boys Club and
quickly made a good impression on the coaching staff. Joe made 4 appearances in
the First team squad last season featuring on the bench in both league and FA
Cup games.Joe has
spent pre season training with the first team and has fitted in very well with
Dave Challinor plans. Despite continuous interest from other clubs, Dave is
delighted to see Joe sign on with Pools:“Joe is a great young talent and there was no surprise to see other clubs trying to get a hold of him but we are delighted to see him sign on. He has trained hard with the first team lads and really fitted in well. Everyone at Hartlepool is excited to see what Joe can do and offer to our squad”.
Joe spoketo the club about the relief of finally signing his first professional contract:
“I'm over
the moon to finally get this done, Hartlepool have been great to me and I was
excited to be around the first team at different times last season and now
during pre season. I want to continue working and get more opportunities when
the season starts”.
