Ian McGuckin has insisted his Youth
Team players must learn lessons from Wednesday's opening game of the season against
Pools kicked-off the new NLFA
campaign with a 2-1 win at Welfare Park but McGuckin was far from pleased with
aspects of the performance and the discipline of his side, who ended the game
with nine men.“We have to learn from what happenedbecause it's not something that can continue,” he told Pools TV.
“We tried to manage the game as best
we could but I felt like the first red card did take our focus away from what
we were trying to do and how we wanted to go about it.“The first thing you think about is
obviously the result but you want a performance to go along with it – we got
one but not the other so we have to move on now.”Click here now to watch our full post-match video interview with Ian McGuckin.
