Kioso Donates Charity Prize To Work In Congo

12 September 2019

Peter Kioso has donated the £200

presented to him as Man of the Match in Saturday's game against Woking to the

United Nations Refugee Agency.

The Pools full-back was chosen as

star man during our televised fixture at the weekend and, as a result, was given

£200 by National League sponsors Vanarama to donate to a charity of his choice.

Kioso has decided to pledge the money

to the UN Refugee Agency, in particular the great work they do in the

Democratic Republic of Congo.

“Being from that country, I justwanted to try and give something back,” he explained.

“All my family are from the country

so I have such a strong connection and bond to the place. I have even taught

myself the language.

“There are kids there who don't have

what I have and have not had the opportunities I have had. I can't help every

kid in the world but hopefully I can help a little for some of those struggling

in my home country.

“Some of the youngsters over there don't get to go to school and some don't even have enough food to eat so any little thing I can do to help is something I want to do.”
