Help Pools With Charity Fundraising Drive

27 September 2019

Following the announcement of the second consecutive Manarama

campaign to support Prostate Cancer UK we've set up a dedicated page to raise

funds for the charity.

We all know about Club President, Jeff Stelling's incredible

work for Prostate Cancer UK – his latest astonishing March for Men challenge earlier

this month saw him crash through the £1million barrier in fundraising.

Now you can support Jeff and all the wonderful work that isbeing done by Prostate Cancer UK by donating to our dedicated Just Giving page.

Plus, National League title sponsors, Vanarama, are offering

an extra incentive by giving member clubs the chance to win a brand new minibus,

simply by donating funds to the charity.

For every £500 we raise between now and the deadline on 15th

November, we'll receive one entry in to the draw to win the minibus which would

be put to excellent use for our younger teams and for projects in the local

community.

One man will die from prostate cancer every 45 minutes in the

United Kingdom – that's over 11.500 men every year and we want your help to do

something about it.

“It was my 29th marathon for PCUK and I want it

to be my last,” said Stelling in his column for Pools Matchday Programme last

weekend.

“When I set out on the first one, I was the height of Peter Crouch– now I am the size of Ronnie Corbett.

“If you are around 50 or over, if your family have a history

of prostate cancer, if you need to pee loads during nights when you haven't had

a skin full but then find you can't pee with any force, it is worth getting

checked.

“Even more so if you are black, as this thing is racially prejudiced, with twice as many black men liable to suffer.

“The sooner you lot get checked then the sooner I stopbanging on and the sooner I can chuck the trainers in the bin!”
