Pools might be on TV on Saturday night – but look out for H'Angus
hitting your screens on Sunday as our monkey mascot once again takes part in
That's right, H'Angus has been in training for this year's
event and will be among the 57,000 runners who take to the streets for the
famous half marathon between Newcastle and South Shields.It's not the first time that our crazy monkey has completed
the Great North Run after he took part to raise funds for The Finlay Cooper
Fund back in 2013.This year he has dug out his running shoes to run for Alice
House Hospice and he's already closing in on his £1000 fundraising target – can

Of course, he's not the only one with Pools connections who
is taking part in this weekend's Great North run – several more with links to
the Club will be pounding the pavements and roads on Sunday.Sarah Rowntree, who works in the Club's Community Sports Foundation, has been in training and is looking forward to her first ever GNR to raise vital funds for the Foundation itself – click here to sponsor her.
Meanwhile, club legends Micky Barron and Michael Nelson will
be both be familiar faces to look out for on television because they're both
taking part too.There are also three members of our Women's Team running on
Sunday – Caitlin Bates, Robyn Foster and Jessica McKenna are all swapping
