Club Appeals For Help With Litter Issue

18 September 2019

Pools are asking fans to help them employ a brand new

sweeper system for games at Victoria Park as they appeal for assistance in

keeping the stadium tidy on matchdays.

Groundstaff have noticed an increase in the amount of litter

being left behind in the stands following home games this season – and now

we're looking to change our tactics to tackle the problem.

The Club is appealing to Pools fans to put their rubbish in

bins around the stadium rather than discarding it beneath their feet, to ease

the burden on staff and volunteers post-match.

“The Vic is our home and I know we're all extremely proud ofit,” said Chief Executive, Mark Maguire.

“We receive plenty of compliments from people who visit us

and we also got some excellent feedback about the upkeep of the ground

following our appearance on BT Sport recently.

“What we're asking is that fans help us keep The Vic looking

its very best by making sure any litter is placed in the bins provided when

they leave at the final whistle.

“We've seen examples elsewhere of fans taking it upon themselves to help clean up and, whilst it may seem a small thing, it makes a huge difference in the day-to-day operation of the Club.”
