Preview: Pools v Brackley Town

18 October 2019

Hartlepool United v Brackley Town
Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying
Saturday 19th October, 3pm
Victoria Park

In Opposition

Brackley Town have already beaten Cinderford Town and Warrington Town in this season's FA Cup to set up their first-ever visit to Victoria Park this weekend.

The Saints have been in strong form in National League North

too and, despite last week's surprise defeat at Southport, they still sit sixth

in the table ahead of Saturday's trip to Pools.

Managed by former Northampton Town and Rushden &

Diamonds front man Kevin Wilkin, Brackley have made big strides in recent years

and have reached the play-offs in each of the last two seasons.

They remain unbeaten on their own patch so far this season

and if they can discover a way to deliver the same consistency on the road in

the coming months then few would bet against them making it third time lucky in

their bid to reach the fifth tier.

One To Watch

Lee Ndlovu provides the focal point for Brackley Town's attack and his hard-working approach and eye for goal means he's one of the most-feared front man in National League North.

The 24-year-old hit the net more than 20 times last term as

The Saints made the play-offs and he's scored three in his last five games

ahead of Saturday's FA Cup trip to The Vic.

A former Ilketon and Grantham Town centre-forward, Ndlovu

has been on the books at Brackley since February 2016 and is one of the first

names on the team sheet.

Head To Head

Saturday's FA Cup will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two clubs.

On The Whistle

Andrew Kitchen has been appointed to take charge of Saturday's FA Cup tie in what will be his second visit of the season to Victoria Park.

The official is new to the National League's list of

referees this term and he was on the whistle at The Vic when we were beaten 3-2

by Bromley in the opening month of 2019/20.

So far, Kitchen has overseen five games in the National

League – his most recent outing was at the end of September when he watched

Wrexham defeat Ebbsfleet United 1-0.
