Pools Women are preparing for a big FA Cup tie on Sunday as they face-off against Chorley for a place in the First Round Proper at Peterlee's East Durham College (2pm kick-off).

Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes' side have already beaten Yorkshire Amateur and Blackburn Community to reach this stage but now face their toughest test yet against National League Chorley.

The Magpies currently sit 10th in Northern Division One but enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win at Harrogate Town in their previous qualifier to set up Sunday's meeting with Pools.

“We have had some information on Chorley so we have worked on our shape and what we would like to do in and out of possession on Sunday,” explained Gibbon-Hayes.

“We've had a fantastic week in training and we've love to back that up on Sunday because the FA Cup is a massive competition for us so it would be brilliant to cause a bit of an upset.

“The staff all really believe in this squad and we back them to beat anyone on their day so if we stick to our game plan on Sunday then we can be confident of getting a result.

“We're the lowest-ranked team from this region left in the FA Cup this season so hopefully we can keep that going this weekend and it would be great to have some support from Pools fans at the game.”

Entry to Sunday's game at East Durham College is free to all supporters.
