Pools made it three games unbeaten following a convincing2-0 victory over Barnet at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Two goals from Nicke Kabamba sealed the win and, after the
game, fellow front man Luke James spoke about his delight at collecting another
three points.“I
thought it was an all-round team performance - we defended well, had a great
shape and when Nicke got the two chances, he took them,” enthused James.“I've
told Nicke I enjoy playing with him and when I got the ball on the turn for the
first goal, I instantly knew where he was going to be for me to slide him in.
They were two great finishes from him, especially the second one.“I
thought Donaldson was great today playing up top with me and Nicke; it makes
life a lot easier when you're playing with two good lads like them.”Pools
are now just two points of a play-off place after Saturday's result and James
revealed that there has been a real togetherness in the group since Antony
Sweeney was handed the caretaker reins.“Saturday
proved that we are a team. We win together and lose together. Especially during
the first 45 minutes, it was a total team performance – it had a bit of
everything.“In
some games we've seemed to lack in either going forward or defending but
Saturday was different. Everything seemed to click, and it's about time.“Wehave been working hard on the training ground and I think that showed.”
James
and the team will now look to continue their unbeaten run as they travel to
Notts County this weekend – The Magpies currently sit eighth but a win would
see Pools leapfrog their hosts in the National League table.Click here for information on buying tickets for Saturday's game at Meadow Lane.
