Pools Youth Team take centre-stage on Monday night when they
make the trip to face Accrington Stanley in the First Round of the FA Youth Cup
Ian McGuckin's side have already stormed past Seaham Red
Star and Stockport County in the qualifying rounds and scored 15 unanswered
goals in the process.However, the youngsters will be well aware that they can
expect a much tougher assignment when they arrive at The Wham Stadium this
evening.“We're looking forward to the challenge,” insisted McGuckin.
“We've enjoyed ourselves in the FA Youth Cup so far this
season, played some good football and scored plenty of goals so we can take
confidence from that.“However, Accrington will give us a big test so we know we'll
have to be at our best again if we want to make further progress in the
competition.“It's another exciting game for us though, in a new stadium
and another fresh experience for the lads and we want them to go and embrace
that.”McGuckin has no new injury worries ahead of the tie;
midfielder Conner Rennison is the only absentee as he remains on the sidelines
with a knee problem.Admission prices at The Wham Stadium tonight are £5 for adults and concessions and £2 for Under 18s.
The winners of this evening's tie will be away to South Shields in Round Two.
