We Must Be Ready For Challenge - McGuckin

11 November 2019

Ian McGuckin has told his Youth Team players they must embrace the challenge as they prepare for a trip to face Chester in the NLFA Cup on Monday night (7pm kick-off).

Pools were knocked out of the League Cup by the same

opponents last month and have also done battle on a couple of occasions in the

FA Youth Cup in recent seasons.

McGuckin says that having come up against them before they

know what to expect – and he wants his squad to go there and be ready to

compete.

“It's going to be another really tough game,” he told us.

“We've played them a few times over the past few seasons in

different competitions and they always provide us with a stern test so I don't

see tonight being any different.

“I just want our boys to go there and thrive on thechallenge that lies in front of them.

“By all accounts, Chester are expecting a good crowd for the

game so it will be another experience for the lads to play there under the

lights and hopefully show what they can do.”

Conner Rennison is on the sidelines with a knee injury but,

other than that, McGuckin looks set to have a fully-fit squad to choose from

for this evening's First Round tie.

The game takes place at Chester's Deva Stadium whereadmission is free but donations are welcomed upon entry.
