Dave Challinor dedicated his side's brilliant FA Cup win at
Yeovil Town to the 101 Pools fans who made the trip to support the team at
The Pools boss was stunned to see so many supporters backing
his side so far away from home on a Tuesday evening and was delighted that they
were treated to a fine performance on the pitch.Despite going a goal down on two minutes, Pools roared back during
a pulsating cup tie and were level on five minutes through Luke James before
Gavan Holohan put them in front 15 minutes later. In truth, Pools could have been out of sight by the break
but Nicke Kabamba's header on the hour and Gime Toure's penalty added much-deserved
gloss to a perfect dugout debut for Challinor.“It's obviously massively pleasing,” Challinor told PoolsTV.
“I'm not going to take a whole lot of credit because we've
come in and tried to implement little things but the boys have been performing
in a way that has deserved to get results.“There has been a criticism that we've not scored goals but
tonight we've created an awful lot of opportunities and taken four at a really,
really difficult place to come.“We got players in good areas, we got bodies in the box, our
set-pieces were a real threat because of the basics of movement and desire to
go and win the ball.“To have that response from going behind early was massive.
We moved on quickly and got back in to it quickly – that gave us confident and allowed
us to play with a freedom.“There were big positives and there is loads more to come
from us. Absolutely loads more. We can get better, more dynamic and a little
bit sharper so if we can learn while winning games then that's great.“The big thing is that the result and performance is for the
fans, the people gave up their day and spent a lot of money to come and follow
us away at Yeovil on a Tuesday evening.“It's unbelievable and hopefully that is a little bit ofreward and makes the journey worthwhile.
“They came down here and have been part of what is a special win for us.”
