Joe Parkinson Named Assistant Manager

11 November 2019

The Club is delighted to announce the appointment of JoeParkinson as our new Assistant Manager.

A former Everton midfielder, Parkinson worked alongside new

Pools boss Dave Challinor for a spell at AFC Fylde though more recently he has

been First Team Development Coach at Shrewsbury Town.

The 48-year-old was a huge fans' favourite at Goodison Park

where he won an FA Cup winners' medal in 1995 following their victory over

Manchester United.

Since retiring from playing, he has gained a wealth of

coaching experience which began as Youth Team Coach at Wigan Athletic before he

progressed through to work with the First Team.

Parkinson has joined Pools with immediate effect and will be

on the touchline alongside Challinor for Tuesday's re-arranged FA Cup tie

against Yeovil Town at Huish Park.

Antony Sweeney will also remain a key part of the new-look

set-up, taking up a role as First Team Coach after a successful spell in

caretaker charge.
