Poolie Index: Fraser Kerr

13 May 2019

It's Poolie Index time here on the Official Website as we take a look back on the popular feature which was included in The Blue Print throughout 2018/19 - and first up it's Fraser Kerr's turn in the spotlight.

It’s all well and good tackling, heading and kicking – but let’s find out how he copes when we pummel him with a barrage of random questions…

1 What’s your biggest fear?
I don’t really have a major fear of anything. I was scared of dogs when I was a young boy but apart from that there is nothing that springs to mind! I’m over my fear of dog now too.

5 What’s your favourite chat-up line?
I don’t have one. I’m engaged now and my fiancée did all the chatting-up when we met! Haha!

17 Did you pass your driving test first time?
I did indeed. I got two minors on my test, I can’t really remember what for. I think one was something to do with not checking my mirror and the other one was probably parallel parking because I had to go out and back in again. I would say I’m a good driver.

20 If time travel was possible where would you want to go?
Forward or back? Ooh, I don’t know. Maybe I would go fifty years in to the future just to see what’s happening and what new things they have managed to invent!

25 What would you sing on a karaoke?
I have a wide selection, to be honest. I quite like a karaoke after a few sherbets! Haha! Bon Jovi and Livin’ On A Prayer would be on the list, that’s a good one. That last time I did it was after the last game of last season when we went out on the Sunday and ended up in a karaoke bar.

32 Has a film ever made you cry?
No, I am not much of a crier really. I know that sounds like a hard man answer but I honestly can’t think of a particular occasion when a film has had me in tears!

38 If we made a film about your life who would you choose to play the lead role?
I would probably have to say the actor from the TV show ‘How I Met Your Mother’. His character is nothing like me in the show but looks-wise he’s not far off. He’s quite lively but I would be sat quiet in the corner – he does look like me though.

45 If you weren’t a footballer what would you be?
I always wanted to be a footballer but if it hadn’t worked out for me then I would probably have gone to University, I think. I am doing a Psychology degree with Open University at the moment so I would probably have done something along that kind of line.

48 What’s the most addicted to a game you’ve ever been?
Football Manager, 100%. Any of the Football Manager games are up there for addictiveness. I think I still have a save going from the 2015 edition where I have managed about 100 seasons with various clubs. I can easily spend a day playing on that and not realise where the time has gone.

52 Who was your first footballer hero?
I would probably say Ronaldo, the original Ronaldo. I don’t play much like him obviously but I remember watching him in the World Cup in 1998 when I was only about four. I got a Brazil top with his name on the back and everything!

58 If you could be any superhero which one would you be?
I am not really that in to superhero movies or anything like that. I would probably pick Superman though – he can fly so that would be quite cool.

63 What’s your favourite pizza topping?
I’m controversial, you know – I like anchovies on my pizza! My missus hates them but I absolutely love them. I don’t really know what the first time I had them was and I know it’s an unpopular choice but there you go! Haha!

75 What was your favourite subject at school?
I would probably say Geography. I am not sure why I liked it but I did enjoy Geography lessons most of the time when I was at school.

85 If you needed to hide a giraffe where would you hide it?
Wow, hide a giraffe?! Is that a real question?! Haha!

89 Who do people say you look like?
Well the main one is Barney Stinson off ‘How I Met Your Mother’ like I said in the other answer. I think I do look quite a lot like him. There have been a couple of people in the past who say I look like Owen Farrell, the England rugby player and I can kind of see that one too, I guess.

2 When did you last get angry?
Doing this interview! Haha! To be fair, I can lose it sometimes but in general I am quite calm. When I am driving I can get quite bad road rage so I reckon the last time I was angry was bound to have been this week when I was driving somewhere!

39 What would your perfect bar look like?
Well, I would have to have some kind of karaoke set-up because I quite like that after a couple of drinks. There would be a good selection of beers too – no cocktails or anything like that. And then I would have plenty of televisions around the place showing different sports. And a pool table as well – that’s a must!

68 What’s the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
Ha, there have been a few over the years. I had a sort of mullet thing going on when I was younger which was pretty bad now I look back – but at 15 or 16 in Scotland it was all the rage and I thought I looked great! I went for a top knot once too. I thought I looked alright too but now I just wonder where I got the confidence from!

76 Did you ever star in a school play?
I am rubbish at acting but I was good at reading so once the teachers found that out I was stuck being the narrator and just reading stuff out at the side of the stage! Ha!

97 Which film do you know all of the words to?
That has to be Stepbrothers. I was kind of obsessed with that when I was a teenager. I watched it not that long ago and I can still recite all the words to myself as it runs through. That’s a really funny film.
