HUCSF Lands Top Community Award

17 May 2019

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation were in celebratory mood on Thursday night when they won the Community Award at Hartlepool Business Awards.

HUCSF is the Club’s registered charity and is heavily involved with social inclusion and sports participation in the town and surrounding area through an array of activities and schemes.

Pools legend Keith Nobbs – who played 327 times for the Club between 1985 and 1993 – now heads up our Community Sports Foundation and he was thrilled to see their efforts rewarded at the Borough Hall event.

“We’re very pleased with the award,” admitted Nobbs.

“It was just nice to be on the shortlist but to take the award is a good reward for all the hard work that our staff put in.

“We have a great team now and we’ve been able to be so diverse in all of the activities we offer.

“A big thank you has to go to the Football Club for all the help they give us and also to the Board of Trustees who have been a great support for us too.”

Nobbs was joined at the Business Awards by team members Vicki Burton, Chris Burton, Dean Cartwright, Paige Hunter, Craig Linsel, Sarah Rowntree, Nayrice Wallace and Issac Wharrier Robinson.

The night was a double celebration for Pools after the Club’s Chairman Raj Singh was named as Business Leader of the Year.
