Hawkins The Hero For Spennymoor Town

2 May 2019

Pools midfielder Lewis Hawkins was the hero for Spennymoor Town on Wednesday night as he fired Jason Ainsley's side one step closer to the National League.

Hawkins, who joined The Moors on loan in March, scored the only goal as they defeated Bradford (Park Avenue) at The Brewery Field to clinch a place in the National League North play-off semi-finals.

The 25-year-old chose the perfect time to score his first goal for Spennymoor, curling a wonderful effort in to the top corner of the net on 75 minutes to set-up a trip to Brackley Town on Sunday.

“It's brilliant to get my first goal and for it to put us through to the semi-final it feels immense,” Hawkins told Spennymoor's YouTube Channel.
