Pools Women’s Team are back in action on Sunday when they host Rotherham United in the NERWFL Premier Division at Dyke House (2pm kick-off).
Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes’ side are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping points in last weekend’s entertaining 3-3 draw at Tynedale and the boss wants to his players on the front foot.
“We want a reaction after last week really,” he admitted.
“We know what Rotherham will bring so I am looking to see some attacking football and hopefully a little more ruthlessness in front of goal.
“I can’t fault the effort and commitment from the players, it’s been different class so I am excited about my first home game in charge and hopefully we can get a few fans down to support us.”
Rotherham have struggle during their first season in the Premier Division – they currently lie second-bottom in the table having won just twice in their 15 outings so far.
Pools will be looking to complete a double over The Millers on Sunday, having run out 4-1 winners in the away fixture last month thanks largely to skipper Justine Robinson’s hat-trick.
Gibbons-Hayes will have an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, though midfield star Alisha Smith looks likely to miss out after picking up an ankle injury in training earlier this week.
Entry at Dyke House on Sunday is free to all supporters.
