We're delighted to confirm another home pre-season friendly ahead of 2019/20, with Jonathan Woodgate's Middlesbrough set to visit The Super 6 Stadium in July.
Woodgate was officially confirmed as Boro's new Head Coach on Friday morning and he will lead a team in action against Pools on Sunday 14th July (1pm kick-off).
The friendly with our Championship neighbours will form part of a busy pre-season schedule, with games against Billingham Town, Shildon, Newton Aycliffe, York City and Sheffield United Under-23s all already confirmed.
It's a game which is likely to draw a decent crowd given the bond built up between Pools and Boro fans in recent years and it will also offer a stern but productive test for Craig Hignett's men.
The Pools squad are set to return to the training ground on Thursday to begin their preparations for 2019/20 with the first friendly action taking place at Billingham Town on Tuesday 2nd July.
We'll have ticket information for the Middlesbrough friendly in due course and we'll also bring you news of any further fixtures as they are confirmed.
