Pools Keeper Earns Third England C Cap

6 June 2019

Pools keeper Ben Killip was one of the star performers for England C during their friendly against Estonia Under-23s in Tallinn on Wednesday night.

Signed from Braintree Town last week, Killip linked-up with his international teammates for a training session in London on Monday before flying out to Estonia on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old was selected in the starting line-up by boss Paul Fairclough and more than justified that decision with a collection of fine saves to keep the hosts at bay.

Killip was replaced by Boreham Wood stopper Ryan Huddart on 70 minutes with the score still goalless but the home side were able to snatch two very late goals to run out 2-0 winners.

It was Killip’s third England C cap after he also featured in 1-0 win over Estonia at Leyton Orient in October and the 2-2 draw with Wales at Salford City in March.
