On Wednesday 29th May members of our Veterans Hub travelled to the North East Aircraft Museum in Sunderland thanks to funding from the Sir James Knott Trust and Veterans Foundation Lottery.
All 15 Veterans enjoyed the day, some of the RAF veterans actually had the opportunity to sit in the Vulcan Bomber Pilot seat after many years of working with them when they were young lads.
The Vulcan Bomber in the photo was actually used to train the Pilots prior the Falkland bombing in 1982
For the Army members it was a bit of a bus man’s holiday seeing vehicles they had served with in many operation across the world.
If you know somebody who has served in any of the forces who may be interested in joining the group for excursions, sports and a weekly chat, we meet every Monday, 2:00pm-4:00pm in the Victoria Lounge at HUFC.
