Adam Bale's summer work paid off on Day One of pre-season as the young midfielder was the star performer in the running test laid on for them on their return to training.
The 20-year-old starlet led the way when it came to the Cooper Test – a 12-minute running exercise which saw the players run laps on a 400-metre course laid out for them.
Bale ran further than any other player, covering almost 3,500 metres within the allotted time – reaping the benefits of a summer of hard work which has seen him remain a regular at the training ground.
Once he’d got his breath back, we asked the youngster how he was settling in to life with Pools and how determined he is to make an impact during 2019/20.
