Pools have received a boost with the news that X-rays carried out on Luke Molyneux's injured leg have shown no fracture.
The winger was forced to hobble off midway through the first half of Wednesday night's friendly at York City and boss Craig Hignett was fearing the worst for his in-form star.
However, Molyneux underwent examination at York Hospital immediately after the game and results have confirmed there is no fracture for the 21-year-old.
“It's more positive news than we were expecting so that's a relief,” admitted Hignett.
“Luke was very sore after the game and it looked as though it could be a bad one so now we'll just have to wait for it to settle down and hopefully he won't be missing too long.”
Molyneux, who joined Pools on a permanent deal last month after a successful loan last term, has been in sparkling form during pre-season, scoring four goals in the first three games.
