It’s been revealed that Pools will be on home turf on both the first and last days of the season for only the second time in 13 years after the 2019/20 fixtures were released.
Craig Hignett’s men will open up at home against Sutton United on Saturday 3rd August before ending the campaign by hosting newly-promoted Torquay United on Saturday 25th April.
The same thing happened to Pools in 2016/17 but that is the only other time since the League Two promotion season of 2006/07 that The Vic has hosted football on the opening day and the last.
Meanwhile, the Club’s trend for playing away from home on Boxing Day has continued – Pools will travel to Harrogate Town this time around following Gateshead’s demotion to National League North.
Confirmation of an away fixture on that date means Pools have been on their travels on 10 of the last 12 Boxing Day games.
