Richard Money has revealed that he is closing in on at least one transfer target and expects to be able to announce the news to supporters over the next 24 hours.
The Pools boss has not only been concentrating on his work on the training ground this week but also doing everything he can to add new faces to his squad.
With the help of Director of Football Craig Hignett and Chief Scout Tommy Miller, Money has been able to move close to finalising deals for two players and he hopes they can be done in time to face Harrogate Town this Saturday.
“I’ve watched a few games, seen a lot of footage and Craig and Tommy have made a lot of phone calls,” Money said in an interview with Pools PlayerHD on Thursday morning.
“We’re working hard to strengthen and I think there will be a couple that we can announce, possibly over the next 24 hours, and will be in for the weekend.
“I don’t think it’s any secret we need a centre-back and we’re pretty close with one who I think will be a good addition and I’ve made it clear the other area I think we need to strengthen.
“The group needs some extra competition so we’re hopeful we can get a couple done.”
