Nicke Kabamba was presented with the Super 6 Goal of the Month award for January prior to Saturday’s game against Leyton Orient.
The in-form front man won the vote for January’s prize thanks to his stooping header in the 2-1 win over Braintree Town a fortnight ago.
Pools legend Brian Honour was on-hand to present the award, 31 years to the day since his stunning goal direct from a corner at Sunderland, and 34 years to the day since his debut for the Club.
Kabamba had made an electric start to life at Pools since joining on loan from Havant & Waterlooville and Saturday’s goal against Orient was his third in as many games.
If the front man hits the net again at Boreham Wood this weekend he will become only the second player to score in his first four games for Pools – the only other is Joe Livingtone back in 1966.
Well done, Nicke!
