Craig Hignett has admitted that it is frustrating to lose Saturday’s game at Ebbsfleet United to the weather but is hoping it can prove a blessing in disguise for his side.
A severe drop in the temperature during recent days has left part of Ebbsfleet’s pitch frozen and an inspection on Friday morning resulted in the decision to postpone the fixture.
Hignett will now spend the day working at The Super 6 Stadium but is hoping a little time off for his players will help provide an extra spring in the step for training next week.
“It’s a shame because it would have been nice to get the game on and go down there with confidence after last week’s result,” Hignett told Pools PlayerHD.
“We’ve done a lot of good work this week, the lads have looked bright and they were all really looking forward to the game.
“But the weather is really bad so we just have to get on with it and plan for going down there on a Tuesday night now.
“It gives the lads a chance to recharge their batteries, spend some time with their families and then come back on Monday ready to go.”
