Women In County Cup Action

13 December 2019

Pools Women return to competitive action on Sunday when they

travel to face Bishop Auckland in the Durham County Cup at King James I Academy

(2pm kick-off).

It's been a stop-start campaign for Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes'

side, though they did climb back up towards the top of the table with a

brilliant 4-3 away win at Harrogate Town last time out.

However, postponements and re-arrangements have left them

behind in terms of games played and they will hope to take some of that

frustration out on Bishop Auckland this weekend.

“It's been very annoying because we've had too many weekendswith no game to play,” admitted Gibbon-Hayes.

“We've had huge wins over Wallsend and Harrogate but notreally been able to build any momentum on the back of them due to free weeks.

“This is our last game before the Christmas break now so wewant to finish on a high, although we know it will be a tough task.”

Gibbon-Hayes will have a squad of only 15 to select from forthe game as he contends with a long injury list this weekend.
