Mark Shelton Joins Pools On Loan

11 December 2019

Dave Challinor has moved to strengthen his midfield options withthe signing of Mark Shelton on loan from Salford City.

The 23-year-old has linked-up with the Club on a deal which

initially extends until after our National League trip to Yeovil Town on

Saturday 18th January.

Shelton came through the ranks at Burton Albion before making a name for himself during a successful spell at Alfreton Town which persuaded Salford to pay money for him in 2017.

During his time with City he played his part in back-to-back

promotions, helping The Ammies drive up from National League North to claim

their place in the EFL.

Earlier this season he was allowed to join Woking on loan where

he scored on his debut to help The Cards claim a point in a 2-2 draw against

Barnet.

Pools boss Challinor has been keen to add reinforcements to

his squad since being appointed last month and Shelton is the second new

arrival following Tyler Hamilton's loan move from Hull City.

Shelton has been handed squad number 29 and will go straight

in to contention for a debut when Pools travel to Harrogate Town in the FA Trophy

on Saturday.
