Dave Challinor praised the effort and character of his
players as they twice came from behind to secure a point against league-leaders
Pools were shaken by a Barrow goal inside the first minute
of an entertaining second half before Gavan Holohan smashed home an equaliser
on 55 minutes.Barrow then rode their luck before restoring their lead midway
through the second period against the run of play but Ryan Donaldson's header
on 76 minutes rescued a draw.“I think a point is the least we deserved and on another daywe could have nicked it.
“Barrow are a good side and are rightly top of the leaguebased on what they've done so far but we more than merited a point.
“We were looking for a reaction and we certainly got that
and, although I'm disappointed with the goals we conceded, I can't ask any more
of the players physically.“We have to manage moments in the game. We were on the front
after equalising and the crowd were right in the game but then that poor second
goal takes the wind right out of us.“Credit to the players because they kept going and the crowd stuck with us and we more than deserved the equaliser and we'll take a point against a good team.”
