Niko Muir has insisted that Pools must take the confidence
gained from victory at Maidenhead United in to the midweek meeting with AFC
Craig Hignett's men are back in action quickly when they
welcome The Coasters to Victoria Park on Tuesday evening and the front man says
the squad can't wait to get going again.Muir came off the bench to rifle in the only goal at York
Road as Pools got the new season up and running following the disappointment of
back-to-back defeats.“I am happy – first of all for all the boys to get the win,”he told Pools TV.
“We should have had three points before this game but I am happy
to contribute, get the goal and that will give myself and the team confidence for
Tuesday now.“We needed to get the win, we've been itching to do that. We were good defensively but we looked a threat as well so we hopefully take that in to Tuesday's game.
“The fans were brilliant. They travelled well at Halifax and
they did it again today so a big shout out to them because it was a good
following and we gave them something to go home happy with.“The train is on the move now, the train is on the move!”
