We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead ofSaturday's season opener at Victoria Park (3pm kick-off).
Craig Hignett looks likely to be without a trio of players
for this weekend's opening game of the new National League campaign against
Sutton United. The Pools boss has confirmed that Ryan Donaldson, Josh
Hawkes and Luke Molyneux are all likely to miss out on the action after picking
up injuries during pre-season.Donaldson has missed the majority of the warm-up campaign
with a calf problem but he has been back training outside for more than a week
now and will continue to catch up on his fitness.Hawkes sustained a hamstring strain in the closing stages of
the friendly against Sheffield United a fortnight ago and looks set for at
least another fortnight on the sidelines.Meanwhile, Molyneux was injured in the runout at York City
and, although the injury wasn't was bad as had first been feared, Saturday's
game is likely to come too soon for the influential winger.New Sutton boss Matt Gray has now finalised the signing of
full-back Rob Milson and he is now in line to make his competitive debut
against Pools.Former Pools keeper Ben Dudzinski could also line-up in opposition this weekend after joining The U's from Havant & Waterlooville during the summer.
