Team News: Maidenhead United v Pools

8 August 2019

Craig Hignett must decide whether to make any changes to his

starting eleven for this weekend's trip to Maidenhead United after seeing Pools

suffer back-to-back defeats in the new season.

Ryan Donaldson is closing in on a return to action after a

calf problem during pre-season, while Myles Anderson has been building up his

fitness and the defender is nearing a comeback.

Luke Molyneux is also making good progress in his recovery

from a leg injury sustained in last month's friendly at York City but Saturday's

game is expected to come too soon for the winger.

Luke Williams was back in the squad again on Tuesday night

but Josh Hawkes (hamstring) and Kenton Richardson (ankle) are still a couple of

weeks away from fitness.

Former Pools striker Jake Cassidy is a likely starter for

Maidenhead; the front man joined The Magpies during the summer and scored the

winner on his debut at Stockport County last weekend.

Danny Whitehall came in to replace James Akintunde alongside

Cassidy for Tuesday night's draw with Chesterfield and will hope to keep his

place in Alan Devonshire's line-up this weekend.
