Pools To Allow Fans To Move Between Terraces

2 August 2019

Forget you hard and soft Brexit or talk backstops – Pools are

excited to announce the softening of borders for the coming season, initially

on a trial basis but with a view to a permanent deal.

Having listened to fans' observations, we have decided to

trial a scheme which will allow supporters to move between the terraced areas

in the Town End and The Neale Cooper Stand during games.

This will allow our fans to walk around to be closer to the

end at which Pools are attacking and also potentially provide some shelter in

the Town End on days when bad weather strikes.

The new system will come in to operation for Saturday's

season-opener against Sutton United and will remain for the fixture against AFC

Fylde on Tuesday 13th August.

A limited number of up to 300 fans will be allowed to move

between the two areas, in order that we can monitor its popularity and

demonstrate to our Safety Advisory Group that our systems will operate

effectively for matches when there is high demand.

“We're really happy to be trialling this idea,” admittedChief Executive Mark Maguire.

“The feedback from fans has been that it's something they

would like and which could go even further toward enhancing the atmosphere on

matchdays.

“Of course, we will always put safety first so a limited

trial is the most sensible approach at this stage but we hope it shows

supporters that we are listening, that we are flexible and we do want to work

with them to improve all aspects of the matchday experience.”
