Injury Update On Molyneux And Williams

23 August 2019

Luke

Molyneux and Luke Williams are set for slightly longer on the sidelines than

had been hoped.

Molyneux

picked up a leg injury during the pre-season friendly at York City in July,

while Williams tweaked his knee during training last week.

Both

injuries have failed to settle down in the way the Club's medical staff were

hoping, therefore the pair have undergone MRI scans this week.

The

results have revealed minor underlying issues for both players and the Club

will now discuss these matters with specialists before deciding upon the best

course of action.

“It's

obviously incredibly frustrating for us and the two players,” admitted Craig

Hignett.

“We're

really unlucky to have two like this at the same time but the most important

thing now is that we get the right care for the lads to make sure they're back

as quickly and safely as possible.

“We'll

be liaising with specialists over the results from their scans and take their

advice over the best course of action to return them to fitness.

“Neither

injuries are serious issues but right now both players will remain out of

action, so we wanted to keep supporters updated.”
